13 May Burning Man Short Film Selected For LA’s “Dances With Film Festival”
Deep Playa Sunrise, the Burning Man short film we produced, has been officially selected for the Dances With Film Festival in Los Angeles!
The film was 1 of 150 films accepted to the festival, which had just over 2,500 submissions this year.
The Deep Playa Sunrise story is a blend of the senses, as we follow a medically discharged combat vet on his first trip to Burning Man, as he searches the “Playa” for hearing-aid batteries. As he discovers a fabled Playa Unicorn, he is taken on an adventure that will change the ex-soldier’s perspective for the rest of his life. It’s a story we can all engage with, and one that holds a deep truth about surrender and adventure.
What makes this story all the more unique is that it is one of the first and only narratives approved by the Burning Man governing body, Black Rock City, LLC.
The premiere of Deep Playa Sunrise will be on June 3rd at the TCL Chinese Theater at 5pm. Tickets are $13 if you purchase online before June 1st, or $15 at the door.
You can find out more information about the film, show times, and purchase tickets at the Dances With Films’ site.
